Where does the “Angry Splash Mountain Lady” meme come from?
The original photo captures Jordan Alexander, a resident of Syracuse, during a visit to Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Her partner, Steven, had initially planned to join her but canceled his participation at the last minute. To turn this incident into a memorable keepsake, the woman voluntarily adopted a furious facial expression with crossed arms. Steven shared the snapshot on Twitter on March 4, 2016, noting that he did not want to ride with her, which sparked hilarious reactions. The clip was then reposted on Reddit and Imgur before being picked up by major outlets like ABC News. The striking contrast between her closed face and the joyful atmosphere of other passengers propelled the image to global fame.
