Where does the “No routine here” meme come from?
CRS : Les Combattants de l’Ordre is a 1997 French documentary following the training of France’s riot police units, with scenes of physical drills and simulated operations. An instructor shouts the line “this is an adventure guys, no routine here!” at trainees mid-exercise, in an upbeat tone that clashes with the visible difficulty of the drill. The line, filmed in the original documentary, later circulated as a clip online and in compilations of iconic moments from French documentaries, becoming a quote used to mock any speech that dresses up a painful ordeal as an exciting adventure.
