In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Chuck Norris” is a mythic card of the Memes FR pack, number 1663 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3495 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Chuck Norris” meme mean?
This meme is mostly nostalgia. It recalls Sundays of the 1990s and 2000s, when the television stayed on through lunch, dad drifted off during the weekly fight scene and the house smelled of roast chicken. People post it to share a family memory, to tease old-school action shows, or to say a moment feels simple, cozy and a bit cheesy. It works as a generational wink that anyone raised in front of a living-room TV recognizes right away.
Where does the “Chuck Norris” meme come from?
Chuck Norris plays Sergeant, later Captain, Cordell Walker in Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired on CBS from 21 April 1993 to 19 May 2001, for 203 episodes. In France it began on TF1 on 9 July 1995, and reruns there continued until 30 December 2012 before moving to TV Breizh and then TMC. Scheduled often around weekends, the series became a family appointment: the episode played during Sunday lunch or the nap that followed. So the meme does not point to one scene but to the atmosphere surrounding the show, captured in a few words: a Sunday, chicken, potatoes and a father falling asleep. In tribute to the actor, TMC aired the series all day on 21 March 2026, proof the memory is still alive.
