What does the “Crawling In My Skin” meme mean?

Where does the “Crawling In My Skin” meme come from?
The text comes from the song “Crawling,” released in 2001 on Linkin Park’s album *Hybrid Theory*. The line “Crawling in my skin / These wounds will not heal” was isolated to become a cultural marker. No single video or publication can be identified as the exact starting point. Diffusion occurred gradually through fan videos and AMVs (Anime Music Videos), notably integrating scenes from *Dragon Ball Z*. A YouTube video titled “DBZ Linkin Park 9/11 Tribute” appears as early as April 2015, but it is not necessarily the primary origin. Other later montages, such as one dated December 2019, confirm the continued use of this quote in humorous or excessively dramatic contexts.
