In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Ferme-là !” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 2728 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3495 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Ferme-là !” meme mean?
The formula deliberately inflates the order to be quiet: instead of politely asking for silence, it demands it “physically” and “forever”, in the voice of a sketch. The comedy comes from that emphasis and the punchline “it’s not a debate”. People use it to cut short a pointless quarrel, to mimic an unappealable verdict among friends or to tease someone who keeps pushing a closed subject. The tone stays that of stage exaggeration.
Where does the “Ferme-là !” meme come from?
Several YouTube uploads carry this sequence under titles along the lines of “Ferme la à tout jamais” or “Physiquement ferme là”, attributing it to a Dieudonné stage show. The clip was widely reposted in compilations of stage extracts, which lodged the phrase in French-speaking web vocabulary. Stripped of its context, it circulates as a quote, a screenshot and a reply, often with no link to where it came from. The card keeps it as is, with the full line and its closing remark.
How to use the “Ferme-là !” meme
- End an endless debate in a group chat.
