What does the “Il est plus proche que tu ne le penses” meme mean?
In a team game like Valorant, a “call” is the information you relay to teammates: where the opponent is, how many there are, which way they are coming from. Saying someone is “closer than you think” tells you nothing except that there is a general threat. People quote the meme to mock a useless tip, a late warning or a dramatic remark with no content. It also fits daily life, when someone announces danger without saying which.
Where does the “Il est plus proche que tu ne le penses” meme come from?
The meme comes from Valorant matches, the team-based tactical shooter where voice communication matters a lot. The phrase has been picked up in French-speaking players’ videos, such as one titled “Il est plus proche que tu ne le pense” by a content creator. It plays as a theatrical line that clashes with a game where every second counts. The meme circulates as a textbook example of a call that helps nobody.
