“J'aime trop ton boule de mec !” meme: meaning, origin and common card

What does the “J'aime trop ton boule de mec !” meme mean?

People use the line to compliment someone's looks in a deliberately over-the-top, joking way, referencing the original song instead of giving a straight compliment. It is a way to tease a friend about their body without being awkward about it, since everyone recognizes the tune behind it. The humor comes from quoting a well-known comic song rather than inventing a new line.

Where does the “J'aime trop ton boule de mec !” meme come from?

“J'aime trop ton boule” came out in 2007 as the third single from “T'as vu?”, the album by Fatal Bazooka, a French parody rap act fronted by actor and comedian Michaël Youn. The music video spoofed dancehall videos popularized by artists like Lord Kossity and Sean Paul, with actor Magloire appearing as a guest: an expected seduction scene turns into a comic ode to the male body. The song flipped the homophobic undertones found in some rap videos of the era by applying typically female video tropes to men instead. Its success and tongue-in-cheek tone kept the hook alive as a catchphrase for years.
