Where does the “We are feelings” meme come from?
In an interview with journalist Susana Griso on Antena 3 in February 2016, Mariano Rajoy, then Spain's prime minister, tried to explain that he had feelings as a human being after being declared persona non grata in the city of Pontevedra. His words got tangled into this now-famous inversion, joining the long list of Rajoy's verbal slips nicknamed in Spain «perlas de Rajoy» (Rajoy's pearls).
