In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Suglinki i Kleopatra” is a common card of the Russian Memes pack, number 154 of the collection, and the 132nd best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Suglinki i Kleopatra” meme mean?
The meme plays on the mismatch between the solemn tone of a historical account and the absurd or incoherent nature of what is actually being told, here pitting “loams” (a type of soil) against Cleopatra. The humor comes from this fake gravity applied to a subject with no real historical logic whatsoever.
Where does the “Suglinki i Kleopatra” meme come from?
The meme appears in 2023 on the Runet as a pseudo-historical narrative mixing “souglinki” (loams, a type of soil) and Cleopatra, told with the seriousness of a grand saga while the content has no real logic at all. The card dates it to 2023 and tags it as a Runet meme; the specific video or post behind the narrative could not be confirmed despite searches on YouTube and the Russian Wikipedia. The contrast between the solemn tone and the absurdity of the content was enough to turn this pairing into a meme reused to parody grand historical narratives.
