Where does the “Your plan is a scratch card” meme come from?

The phrase originates from the televised debate *L’Événement* on France 2, hosted by Caroline Roux and broadcast live on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 8:14 PM. This crucial moment takes place during the European election campaign. Gabriel Attal addresses these words to Jordan Bardella. The context concerns immigration and border controls. Attal then criticizes the RN program. According to transcripts, he states: "Your program is a scratch card, there are plenty of promises, but when you scratch, there is nothing behind." Another version reports: "Your plan is a scratch card, you scratch and there is nothing underneath." The word "scratch card" here refers to a lottery ticket. Attal thus accuses Bardella's program of displaying seductive promises without any real foundation. Bardella replies that his project consists of "bringing everyone into France," unlike his own. The platform and exact date of creation or first broadcast of the meme are unknown.
