What does the “Quelle grâce” meme mean?
Saying “Quelle grâce!” over a dish or dessert voices a comic admiration, with a solemnity that borrows an almost religious vocabulary. The word, pulled away from its usual meaning, sounds both emphatic and funny. People use it to savour a meal, react to good news, or hail a success, small or big, with emphasis. It works best out loud, with the sing-song tone and delighted face you can picture from the videos.
Where does the “Quelle grâce” meme come from?
A YouTube video titled “Congomokili déguste le gâteau ‘quelle grâce’” shows how the phrase is used: the title pairs the name Congomokili, a cake and the exclamation. Other videos reuse “Quelle grâce!” as a caption for tastings, a sign that the phrase circulates as a standalone line, detached from its context. The word “grâce” also belongs to Christian vocabulary, which explains the solemn effect. The card says little more, but the expression has turned into a cry of pleasure that web users quote for any pleasant situation.

The reprints of the “Quelle grâce” card

Every printing is dealt in the packs of the Memes FR pack, each at its own rarity: the higher it is, the rarer the card is to pull. Copies of the first printing already pulled stay as they are, and any printing counts toward completing a set.
