Where does the “5 bottles of Ballantine's” meme come from?
The phrase references drinking Ballantine's, a widely known Scotch whisky sold in standard bottles, here counted as five with the casual spelling “teilles” for bottles. The tag “Normaal!”, with its deliberately stretched spelling, emphasizes the falsely detached tone of the remark, a common trick in online humor to highlight excess through understatement. The card, paired with a warning about alcohol consumption, reuses this line as it circulated, with no further detail available about its exact original context.
