Where does the “Au revoir ! (Jeff tuche)” meme come from?
The scene comes from the film Les Tuche 4, released in France in 2021, the fourth installment of the comedic Les Tuche saga. In the story, Jeff Tuche, who accidentally became president of the Republic, eventually gives up his duties and delivers this now-famous “goodbye,” staying true to his laid-back character ill-suited for power until the very end. The short, blunt line was picked up as a comic image of abandoning a post with no transition, since the contrast between the weight of the role and the lightness of the exit stuck with viewers.
