What does the “Bonjour je m’appelle Placide…” meme mean?
This image expresses the absurdity of conspiracy narratives by adopting the tone of a credible testimony. It serves to mock those who defend foolish ideas with quiet confidence. The contrast between the gravity of the presentation and the illogical nature of the statement generates immediate comedic effect, often used to highlight the inaudibility or naivety of a claim.
Where does the “Bonjour je m’appelle Placide…” meme come from?
The clip comes from the Booska S’maine show, broadcast on YouTube, where Kaaris was invited in November 2016. In this interview, the rapper discusses rumors circulating about him. He then imagines that searching his name might lead to a pastor named Placide. This observation precedes a fanciful explanation presenting him as a high-ranking member of the Illuminati order. This sequence was isolated by the online community for remixing. The original video highlights how artists can find themselves at the center of urban legends disconnected from reality.
