In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “La sainte pelle” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 3399 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3496 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “La sainte pelle” meme mean?
This meme relies on dark humor and complete absurdity. It subverts a sacred rite, baptism, by introducing an image of extreme, ridiculous physical violence. The intended emotion is comedic shock: juxtaposing infant purity with skull destruction creates a striking contrast. It is used to mock illogical situations or rigid traditions, though its usage remains limited due to lack of context.
Where does the “La sainte pelle” meme come from?
No reliable source identifies the exact origin of this meme. Web searches failed to locate the original video, show, forum, or author. The phrase “La tradition est que pour son baptême chaque enfant se fasse défoncer le crâne” circulates in isolation. Connections have been made to a Walloon expression containing *batême* or Albert Dupontel’s film *Bernie*, but no direct link is proven. It likely originated from a small circle or undocumented internal joke.
