In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “C15 du Seigneur” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 2921 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3493 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “C15 du Seigneur” meme mean?
The meme lifts a humble van to the rank of relic: the C15 holds, drives and starts even when everything else gave up. It salutes an indestructible object, an old tool that still works, or a person who takes everything in stride. “Du Seigneur” adds a touch of fervor and irony: the machine is practically blessed. Online, the meme fuels jokes about the countryside, craftsmen and cars you cannot kill, with a mix of affection and exaggeration.
Where does the “C15 du Seigneur” meme come from?
The Citroën C15 is a small utility van whose production officially ended in 2006, after twenty-two years and more than two million units, according to a Légendes de la Route video titled “the vehicle nobody can kill”. Ads exist, such as a 1998 spot featuring a plumber, and comedy videos pit it against big sedans. This reputation for sturdiness put it into the popular imagination of the countryside, craftsmen and garages. The nickname “du Seigneur” extends that devotion as a joke.
