Where does the “Asterion vs. Astefion” meme come from?
Astérion, also known under the pseudonym Kirby54, is a French streamer tied to Mario Kart videos marked by cheating accusations and on-stream outbursts. Facing him, Astéfion stands as his declared rival, calling him out in widely shared videos as a player who rages, cheats and lies after every loss. The feud, picked up by other creators under titles framing it as an explosive showdown, became a recurring reference for a rivalry in which one side is judged increasingly dishonest as the feud drags on, rather than for the actual race results.
