What does the “I'll buy him a sandwich (RRRrrr)” meme mean?
The scene sticks because it is absurd: promising a sandwich in exchange for a confession, then picking strawberry as the filling. The line is used to offer a trivial deal for a snitch or a confession. It carries nostalgia for a much-quoted French comedy and fondness for the offbeat humor of its prehistoric characters. People use it to coax a friend into confessing or to joke about a pitiful reward.
