In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Actually, no!” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 1934 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3502 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Actually, no!” meme mean?
The phrase captures the fake-out: you say yes, you are about to act, then you retract as if nothing happened. The charm comes from the gap between the gentle bedtime-show mood and the bad faith of the turnaround. It cancels a plan, refuses something just accepted or teases someone with a false promise. Among friends it defuses annoyance with laughter, since the person backing out does it with the cheer of a teddy bear pulling a feint.
Where does the “Actually, no!” meme come from?
Nounours is the teddy bear character of Bonne nuit les petits, a French children’s series created by Claude Laydu and his wife Christine, first aired on 10 December 1962 on RTF. It ran for 568 five-minute episodes between 1962 and 1973, with later series in the 1970s and 1990s. The card shows a Nounours who “tricks us with feints”, turning the childhood hero into a joker who announces one thing and then contradicts it. The twist travels as subtitled extracts, edits and social media messages.

The reprint of the “Actually, no!” card
The “Actually, no!” card was reprinted as Epic (No. 3,088). A reprint is the same meme printed again, with a number of its own and a higher rarity than its first printing, which was rare. Its face reads “Reprinted card · Higher rarity”.
Every printing is dealt in the packs of the Memes FR pack, each at its own rarity: the higher it is, the rarer the card is to pull. Copies of the first printing already pulled stay as they are, and any printing counts toward completing a set.
MyMemeCards reprints a meme when it deserves more than the rarity of its first printing, such as a classic that became iconic after it came out: the reprint gives it a place among the most sought-after cards without taking anything from the players who already had it.
