What does the “"Fais nous le loup très méchant"” meme mean?
The phrase works as an invitation to improvised role-play: someone is asked to briefly turn into a menacing character, in the style of the fairy-tale wolf, purely to entertain. The exaggeration in “très méchant” underlines how deliberately theatrical the request is, far from any real intimidation. It is used to lighten the mood, push someone to let loose in front of a camera, or simply reference the archetype of the growling, scary wolf from children's stories.
Where does the “"Fais nous le loup très méchant"” meme come from?
The “very mean wolf” refers to the big bad wolf archetype found in many children's fairy tales, notably Little Red Riding Hood or The Three Little Pigs, where the wolf embodies an exaggerated threat told to give a thrill without any real danger. The request “fais-nous le loup très méchant” reuses this classic role as a game: it invites someone to force their voice, growl, and put on a menacing look in a comic way, in the spirit of an impression performed to entertain rather than to actually scare anyone.
