In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Grand prince” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 728 of the collection, and the 602nd best-known meme of its 869 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Grand prince” meme mean?
To be a grand prince, in ordinary French, is to show magnanimity. The meme keeps the form and drops the substance: forgiveness is announced with solemnity while nothing has actually been given up and the grudge stays intact. It is generosity as a pose. So it is used to grant a tiny favour ironically, to comment on someone congratulating themselves on their own leniency, or to close a dispute without conceding a thing.
Where does the “Grand prince” meme come from?
The clip kept as the card’s source is a Sylvain Lyve video posted in 2025, from which the card’s artwork is taken. The link submitted with the proposal was a TikTok excerpt of that same video. The phrase circulates mainly as a GIF: animated-image banks host several, tagged with the video-maker’s name and published from January 2025 onwards. The card’s technical sheet notes that the twenty million views of the original video belong to a broadcast of nearly fifty-five minutes rather than to the retained passage, which is why the measured rarity was lowered one tier. No editorial source was found on this passage.
