In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Il est l'heure” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 741 of the collection, and the 545th best-known meme of its 869 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Il est l'heure” meme mean?
The strength of the phrase is its brevity. It does not ask for agreement, it states a fact: the moment has come, so off we go. That makes it the perfect tool for cutting something short — a meeting that drags, a game that will not be won, a conversation going in circles. It also works as an amused warning, as the announcement of a decision already made, or as a collective signal to leave. Delivered in the duo’s tone, it is a verdict rather than a proposal.
Where does the “Il est l'heure” meme come from?
The video kept as the card’s source is published on the Laink et Terracid channel, formed by two French video-makers who comment on video games in two voices; its title, too crude to quote here, opens on the line. The card places the sequence in 2020 and takes its artwork from the clip’s first second. The research for this article found no editorial source documenting this particular line: no article, no reference page, no broadcast date confirmed by a third party. The card therefore stands for the line as attested by the source video and for its use, not for a dated fact.
