What does the “invento” meme mean?
“Invento” stands for a rapper whose creativity borders on the absurd. As a meme, it affectionately mocks anyone who makes everything up, from lyrics to stories, without caring about plausibility. People cite it to tease an improbable text, an overly creative excuse or an idea from nowhere, with a wink to a cult parody of French-language rap.
Where does the “invento” meme come from?
Invento is one of the characters in “Les 11 rappeurs à ne pas suivre,” a parody video posted by Mister V on YouTube featuring a run of imaginary rappers with exaggerated styles. The track later circulated in a longer cut, and an artist named Nakry released a clip titled Invento as an answer to Mister V. The name has since become shorthand for excessive creativity.
