Where does the “Je ne dis pas ça parce que vous êtes noire” meme come from?
The origin dates back to October 7, 2026, during the show 'La Grande Confrontation' on the French news channel LCI, hosted by David Pujadas. A 17-year-old high school student named Elwan was on set with a Black mother. He suggested she likely came from difficult neighborhoods in Marseille. When asked why he assumed that, he replied: 'I’m not saying that because you’re black.' The clip went viral on X, though the original post remains unknown. The meme thrives on this real-life moment where a teen tries to justify a judgment based on looks while explicitly denying racial motives.
