ALISON JE TAIME TRES FORT.flv (sainteugenoise)In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Je t'aime Alison !” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 2115 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3502 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Je t'aime Alison !” meme mean?
The meme brings together three ingredients: love declared with complete sincerity, a makeshift song, and nostalgia for early-2000s messenger days. It is funny for the gap between the weight of the feelings and the clumsiness of the delivery. Use it to ridicule an over-the-top confession, to tease a friend in love, or to share a memory of the MSN era. It can also be bent: swap Alison’s name for the target’s, which makes it a flexible teasing formula.
Where does the “Je t'aime Alison !” meme come from?
The meme comes from a clip in which Walid Djaghlouf sings to Alison, the chosen one of his MSN heart. Several videos carrying the name circulated on YouTube, under titles like “Je t’aime Alison très fort” or “Walid Djaghlouf je t’m Alison sur NRJ”, which suggests the story was also picked up around the NRJ radio station. Each version was reposted by many users, which explains the many copies of the clip. The declaration, somewhere between virtual romance and naivety, fits the imagery of the first online chats. The meme has since served as a template for twisting the line with other first names, always in the spirit of an affectionate joke.
