What does the “Je vais le démarrer cet enculé” meme mean?
The phrase plays on the contrast between a normally composed person and a threat delivered with almost theatrical seriousness. It captions a scene where someone, mildly annoyed, promises a disproportionate reaction to a small detail or provocation. The humor comes from the mismatch: the speaker isn’t known for losing their temper, which makes the threat both surprising and defused by its over-the-top delivery.
Where does the “Je vais le démarrer cet enculé” meme come from?
The French slang verb meaning to confront or “go at” someone was popularized in part by French rapper Mister V, whose track “J’vais le démarrer” spread this expression widely among young French-speaking audiences. Lifted out of its original musical context, the line later circulated online as a stock catchphrase, attached to images or clips showing an otherwise calm person suddenly letting out an unexpected, half-mocking threat or burst of anger directed at someone else.
