The phrase refers to the ritual that ends many episodes: the Team Rocket trio fails to steal Ash’s Pikachu and is flung into the sky. In everyday talk it flags a failure that everyone saw coming, taken with a shrug. A joke about flight hours comes on top, as if all that launching had logged more air time than a plane. People post it about someone who keeps charging back without success, or about a person storming off after losing an argument.
