In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Nico & Byilhann would-you-rather” is an epic card of the Memes FR pack, number 1797 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3498 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Nico & Byilhann would-you-rather” meme mean?
The meme mocks the idea of a real dilemma: two options so close, or so silly, that choosing is both impossible and funny. The passing fish changes nothing about the outcome, yet the game is to pretend it matters. Use it when a choice is obviously pointless, when a friend asks a trick question, or to describe picking between two disasters that are really one. It also sums up the appetite for chaotic question games online.
Where does the “Nico & Byilhann would-you-rather” meme come from?
“Would you rather” is an old verbal party game that content creators have revived. Several videos on Byilhan's channel, a French YouTuber and streamer, use the format with Nico and Flamby, including compilations of the funniest questions, while other videos from their circle take questions sent in by viewers. The drowning question, with or without a fish, became emblematic of the genre: the added detail neither improves nor worsens anything, which throws players off. Clips and screenshots then spread on social platforms.
