Where does the “Long Boy” meme come from?
The phenomenon emerged on February 24, 2016, via Special Meme Fresh, a Tumblr blog dedicated to ironic memes. The account initially posted a list of 'levels of irony,' where the fifth level advised sending a cylinder image to a friend with the text 'haha long boy,' risking being blocked. That same day, a screenshot of a Facebook Messenger conversation illustrated this dynamic: an anonymous user shared the orange cylinder while the admin simply replied 'What?'.
