In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Manif simulator sur Roblox” is an epic card of the Memes FR pack, number 1290 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3496 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Manif simulator sur Roblox” meme mean?
The meme runs on contrast. Roblox is a game platform with a largely young audience and its own virtual currency, Robux. Seeing a shop sell equipment tied to the news creates an absurd effect that makes people react and laugh. It is used to comment on a game with an improbable theme, to stress that anything can be simulated on Roblox, or to joke about how current events end up turned into mini-games. The point stays a wry observation about online games, without taking a side.
Where does the “Manif simulator sur Roblox” meme come from?
Roblox is an online platform where players build and publish their own games, which can be sold or enriched with items bought using a virtual currency, the Robux. Among these creations, some borrow topical themes, including protest simulators. A screenshot of one such game, where LBDs (lanceurs de balles de défense, a type of less-lethal launcher used by French police) are paid for in Robux, circulated on French-speaking networks. It prompted comments and edits about how odd the scene looks, which turned it into a meme.
