In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Melissandre” is a mythic card of the Memes FR pack, number 1260 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3496 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Melissandre” meme mean?
The phrase works through contrast: the name Mélissandre sounds noble, nearly legendary, while the remark that follows is direct and casual. The meme stands for unfiltered frankness, the kind a close friend shows by saying out loud what they think. People use it to tease someone in an exaggerated way, to mimic an over-the-top scolding tone, or to derail a conversation with comic confidence. It is best kept light among friends, since the remark concerns appearance and is not meant to hurt.
Where does the “Melissandre” meme come from?
The meme quotes the line “Tu es grosse Mélissandre”, addressed to a person named Mélissandre. The phrase circulates as a video excerpt or a written quote, and its humor lies in the roughness of the tone set against a name evoking a fictional heroine. Users adopted it as a ready-made formula to tease a friend or comment on a scene where someone blurts out an awkward truth.
