Where does the “Koroche, Mecheny” meme come from?
The phrase “Короче, Меченый” combines two familiar pieces of casual Russian speech: “короче,” used as a transition word to quickly wrap up a story, and “Меченый,” a nickname given to someone easily recognized by a particular mark. The Runet picked up this pairing as a ready-made line for introducing, without dwelling on detail, a story or anecdote centered on a character carrying that nickname. It remains a rare, lightly documented phrase, reflected by its card, numbered 83 in its series.
