In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Lucky, lucky” is a common card of the Russian Memes pack, number 226 of the collection, and the 132nd best-known meme of its 300 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Lucky, lucky” meme mean?
The meme works in two opposite ways: either to celebrate a truly favorable coincidence, or, tongue-in-cheek, to mock a failed situation dressed up as success. That ambiguity is the whole joke: the same phrase can be sincere or ironic depending on context, which makes it a very reusable catch-all reaction.
Where does the “Lucky, lucky” meme come from?
The meme has circulated on the Russian-language internet (Runet) since 2020, built around the repeated phrase “povezlo, povezlo”, originally used to comment on a real stroke of luck before being reused ironically to mock a failure dressed up as a success. The repetition of the word and its falsely enthusiastic tone turned it into a ready-made line, easy to bring up in any ambiguous situation. The card dates it to 2020 as a common Runet card; no further detail about the exact original video or image could be confirmed.
