Where does the “Mortal Kombat” meme come from?
The precise origin of this meme is unknown: consulted sources do not allow identifying who speaks or appears, nor the video, show, platform, or exact publication date. Therefore, it is not possible to attribute the wording to a specific person or account. The text repeats documented facts about Mortal Kombat. The first game was released on arcade cabinets in 1992, developed by Midway, and distinguished itself by graphic violence and Fatalities, finishing moves that allowed decapitating or mutilating the defeated opponent. This violence caused significant controversy and contributed to the debate leading to the creation of the ESRB in the United States.
