What does the “On est 55 milliards” meme mean?
The line claims, firmly, that there are 55 billion people on the planet. The figure is wrong, and its size is what makes people laugh. It is used to mock a shaky argument, a number invented mid-discussion, or to ironically justify why something “must” happen to somebody. It also carries a whiny edge: among so many people, why me? It serves as a bad-faith comeback.
Where does the “On est 55 milliards” meme come from?
Several YouTube videos carry the phrase in their titles: “tk78 meme je comprends pas il y a 55 milliards de personne sur terre” from the channel iliasb’s, “On est 55 milliard sur terre tk” from onerya, and “Meme tk78 ont est 55 milliard sur terre avec paulok”. These clips tie the line to the “tk78” universe and turn it into a sound reused in edits. Its deliberate miscalculation, delivered seriously, made it a staple of comment-section humor.
