Where does the “Rotation Curation” meme come from?
The term originates from the 'Curators of Sweden' project, launched on December 10, 2011, by the Swedish Institute and VisitSweden, in collaboration with the agency Volontaire. Launched on Twitter via the @sweden account, the initiative involved handing over weekly management of the profile to Swedish residents. Each curator posted according to their own personality, without institutional filtering. This approach was presented as pioneering in using social media to illustrate national diversity. Although launched in late 2011, the phenomenon saw its peak media coverage in 2012, solidifying the expression as a reference for this type of collaborative practice on social platforms.
