In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Slow Burn” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 4430 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3511 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Slow Burn” meme mean?
A Slow Burn takes a familiar animated loop and swaps in your own cast. The fun lies in recognition: viewers spot the structure, the tempo and the beat where the picture changes, then judge what each artist did with it. The original poster saw it first as an outlet, writing in the description about having so much to say yet never opening their mouth. That held-back, slowly rising feeling gives the format its slightly wistful mood, far from a quick one-liner joke.
Where does the “Slow Burn” meme come from?
The reference version is titled “Slow Burn (original loop animation meme) (flipaclip)”, posted by mehlonni on 15 March 2020, 26 seconds long. In the description the creator says the piece was renamed a “meme” because nothing too personal appears in it and “AMV” did not fit, and adds that they do not know the song. Redraws followed within months: Psych Out10 in July 2020 with a blue character called Spirit, a twelve-frames-per-second take by Silvia vole in August, then Terminoux in September, animating Bendy, Alice Angel and other Bendy and the Ink Machine characters and crediting Autograf’s 2016 track “Slow Burn”. Rinvily posted another at the start of October 2020.
