What does the “Tiens ma force” meme mean?
The phrase answers praise, pressure or a grand statement with an absurd line repeated like a mantra. “Hold my strength” sounds like passing energy to someone, a gesture of support or blessing, which makes the moment both tender and ridiculous. People use it to parody a solemn scene, to thank a friend as a joke, or to cheer on someone facing a challenge, such as a job interview or an oral exam.
Where does the “Tiens ma force” meme come from?
The scene brings together two French-speaking social media personalities, Brulux and Abdel Soulax, during a live exchange on Instagram. Brulux tells Abdel Soulax that he is a prominent human being, and Soulax answers by repeating “Tiens ma force, tiens ma force, tiens ma force” in a moment many found as sincere as it was funny. Extracts of these lives were reposted on YouTube in compilations, and the line eventually detached itself from the scene to spread as audio, edits and captioned images.
