What does the “Trend Napoléon” meme mean?
The trend jumps from a monument of history to a sentimental pop song. The contrast is the joke: the emperor of the French, a military leader, looks like a lovestruck dreamer lost in somebody’s eyes. The edits are slowed down with heavy reverb, which pushes the mood toward melodrama and daydreaming.
