In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Krilin” is an epic card of the Anime Memes pack, number 39 of the collection, and the 1st best-known meme of its 66 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Krilin” meme mean?
Bringing up Krilin means pointing at the loyal underdog standing next to overpowered heroes. He’s the childhood friend who stays by Goku’s side no matter how wide the power gap grows. People invoke Krilin to talk about courage despite fear, disarming humor in tense moments, or simply the one human holding his ground in a world of superhumans.
Where does the “Krilin” meme come from?
Krilin first appears in the early chapters of Dragon Ball, created by Akira Toriyama: a former Orin Temple monk who joins Master Roshi’s training alongside Son Goku. The two boys, rivals at first, become inseparable, and Krilin stays Goku’s most loyal companion through Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. His unmistakable look, noseless with six forehead dots recalling a Shaolin monk, and his standing as the strongest human fighter against alien threats, turned him into a cult figure, later reused as a meme for the loyal friend who refuses to quit even hopelessly outmatched.
