What does the “Call of Duty Infinite Wouaf Wouaf” meme mean?
The meme revolves around a title deliberately or accidentally mangled: “Infinite Wouaf Wouaf” sounds like “Infinite Warfare”, an entry in the Call of Duty series. The humor rests on how seriously GT Gabi defends his pick and on the childish sound replacing the word. People use it for a game whose name they cannot remember, for confidently defending an absurd opinion, or for imitating the commanding tone of the character. It acts as a recognition signal among fans.
Where does the “Call of Duty Infinite Wouaf Wouaf” meme come from?
GT Gabi is the name under which several clips are gathered on the YouTube channel Chien mouillé, which posts videos with titles such as “la naissance du mythe” or “ne va pas donner le nom du jeu mais il va essayer quand même”. In one of them, he names Call of Duty Infinite Wouaf Wouaf as the best entry of the series. The garbled title echoes Infinite Warfare, a Call of Duty installment. Very short, the phrase detaches easily and circulates as a quote or a comment about shooter games.
