In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “championnat du monde de lancé d'enfants” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 1742 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3500 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “championnat du monde de lancé d'enfants” meme mean?
The meme turns a brief, brutal gesture into an Olympic event: the throw is called like a match, with distance, technique and commentators who are shamelessly biased. The clash between the violent image and the cheerful voices creates the humor. People use it for any spectacular fall or object that flies too far, for a kid launched off a slide, or to imitate sports announcers. The phrase is deliberately absurd and works even if you have never watched the anime.
Where does the “championnat du monde de lancé d'enfants” meme come from?
The scene comes from a Hunter x Hunter parody in the style of ReTake, a French-language comedy dubbing collective that the card calls “the two GOATs”. In the clip, Hisoka gives Gon a little tap and Gon takes off, while two voices commentate live like TV announcers, hence a world championship of child throwing. Parodies of this kind rewrite an anime’s dialogue entirely: the pictures are the original’s, the soundtrack is invented. The extract then spread as a short clip, and its title line became a reusable comment for any comic launch.
