In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Le Comte de Menthe et Cristaux” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 677 of the collection, and the 238th best-known meme of its 659 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Le Comte de Menthe et Cristaux” meme mean?
The card is for giving yourself a grand title over a tiny achievement: nailing a recipe, winning a round, finding a parking space outside your door. It also mocks an over-long signature, a stacked username or a pompous introduction in a group chat. The mechanism never changes: the gap between how solemn the title sounds and how little it actually covers does all of the work.
Where does the “Le Comte de Menthe et Cristaux” meme come from?
The short film “La Véritable histoire du Comte de menthe et cristaux” was released on 22 February 2025. It was written and directed by Raphaël Chiche, with Pierre Chabrier in the title role alongside Raphaël Distier, Thiebault Carlier and Cassandra Borie, produced by ENKOR Films. The film works as historical parody and is built around its lead actor, who is known for his automotive video work. The character's title, lifted out of the film, then travelled on its own as an introduction line in comments and captions, often used by people who have never seen the short it comes from.
