“Des keufs qui appellent des keufs” meme: meaning, origin and rare card

What does the “Des keufs qui appellent des keufs” meme mean?

The phrase points at the absurdity of a chain that goes in circles: instead of acting, someone passes the baton to a person in exactly the same position. The image is deliberately silly, and the comparison with horses calling horses pushes the ridiculousness one step further. It gets used to comment on a situation where nobody solves anything, an instruction that points to an identical service, or a scene where two people with the same profile toss the problem back and forth. The tone is light: an observational quip, not a reasoned criticism.

Where does the “Des keufs qui appellent des keufs” meme come from?

In “keufs” you can hear the French slang “verlan” form of “flics”, an informal word for police officers in France. The saying drops this word into a repetitive pattern, “des X qui appellent des X”, which gets its laugh from the looping logic. A variant circulates in a deliberately ungrammatical form, “des Cheval qui appel des Cheval”, adding a layer of naivety to the gag. Formulas like this circulate as captions, comments or edits: swap in whatever word fits the context and the structure does the rest. The meme can be understood without any specific source, through the mechanics of repetition alone.
