In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Faignon meme” is an epic card of the Memes FR pack, number 1246 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3496 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Faignon meme” meme mean?
The meme expresses proud laziness: the character does nothing useful, wanders around and is perfectly fine with it. The comedy comes from the blunt “and that’s it”, which makes any justification pointless. People use it to tease a friend who is hanging around, to comment on a day spent doing nothing, or to claim their own lazy moments. It can also describe someone who always seems to be out for a walk while everyone else is busy. The twisted word gives a familiar, affectionate tone that softens the mockery.
Where does the “Faignon meme” meme come from?
The card describes the character in three beats: he does not work, he strolls around, and that’s it. The title “FAIGNON” echoes a casual spelling close to “feignant”, a popular form of “fainéant”, which places the meme on the side of displayed laziness from the start. The brevity of the portrait is its strength: no detail, no excuse, only an observation anyone can apply to someone around them. Internet users use it in comments, captions and edits to label a loafer or a champion of idleness, with mocking tenderness. The meme travels easily because it depends on no precise context and is understood in a second.
