In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Fatal x Savane” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 1756 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3493 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Fatal x Savane” meme mean?
The line works like a hijacked jingle: a snack-time slogan delivered with the swagger of a fake rapper. The humor lies in the mismatch, since Fatal sings about a plain, soft cake with total commitment. People quote it when they find a dessert, pastry or dish irresistible, putting in as much conviction as possible. It also acts as a wink between people who grew up with French TV ads and 2000s pop culture. Saying “il est si bon” in Fatal’s voice is usually enough to get a smile.
Where does the “Fatal x Savane” meme come from?
Fatal Bazooka is a French comedy music project: a fictional rapper played by Michaël Youn, alongside Vincent Desagnat and Benjamin Morgaine. The character first appeared in 2002 in a sketch on the M6 show Morning Live, then broke through with the single “Fous ta cagoule” in 2006 and the album “T’as vu ?”, released on 28 May 2007. Several YouTube uploads, some titled “Fatal Bazooka marque Savane” or “Pub - Fatal Bazooka”, show the character paired with the Savane de Brossard cake brand. The refrain “Il est si bon le savane, le savane papy Brossard!” later broke away from the ad and became a line that people quote, remix and sing again.
