Where does the “Four Pictures of Jennifer Lawrence” meme come from?
The documented origin of this meme traces back to a satirical article published by ClickHole on August 27, 2014. Titled "6 Pictures Of Scarlett Johansson That Will Make You Say “This Is A Picture Of A Boat”", it invented the premise: a title promising star images hides ordinary objects. The specific Jennifer Lawrence variant appeared later, on May 28, 2016, when user Bump4Trump posted an Imgur gallery titled "6 pictures of Jennifer Lawrence that'll make you say “That's a bear not Jennifer Lawrence.”". The format then spread on Reddit, particularly in r/me_irl, starting in October 2016. Thus, 2014 corresponds to the prototype, not the appearance of the Jennifer Lawrence variant.
