In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “L’arc des Pessi” is an epic card of the Memes FR pack, number 4554 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3503 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “L’arc des Pessi” meme mean?
The word “arc” borrows storytelling vocabulary to describe a series of videos that build on each other around the same character and nickname, rather than a single standalone clip. It evokes the idea of a comic serial followed by a community watching for each new installment. It is used to describe any string of video content centered on the same recognized running gag.
Where does the “L’arc des Pessi” meme come from?
The nickname “Pessi” notably appears in a reaction video filmed in Paris, where the character is confronted in a setting close to Parisian football news. This video fits a format of serialized reaction clips, where several successive episodes feature the same character under the same nickname, which gave rise to the phrase “l'arc des Pessi” to describe this whole set rather than a single episode. The card reuses this nickname as it circulates online, without a precise, dated founding event otherwise being established.
