In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Ninja vert de montreuil” is a common card of the Memes FR pack, number 4553 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3512 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Ninja vert de montreuil” meme mean?
It names someone who thinks they are a stealthy hero while everybody sees them: the bright color gives the ninja away. The meme mocks a failed attempt at discretion, an over-visible outfit or a grand plan born in an ordinary neighborhood. It is also a local wink, Montreuil being a town in the Paris region. The tone stays friendly: the joke is in the image, not in a specific target.
Where does the “Ninja vert de montreuil” meme come from?
The title ties a ninja character, through his green color, to Montreuil, a town on the eastern edge of Paris. That geographic detail gives the phrase the air of a burlesque news item, as if the hero had wandered into the wrong movie. The meme spread as images, clips and captions in the French-speaking community before entering the collection. It shows a classic online-humor move: pin an archetype from Japan onto a very precise spot in the Paris region and let the absurdity work.
