In MyMemeCards, the meme card game, “Marqui l’ému” is a rare card of the Memes FR pack, number 1250 of the collection, and the 753rd best-known meme of its 3495 cards. Here is what the meme means, where it comes from, and how to get its card.
What does the “Marqui l’ému” meme mean?
The meme plays on contrast: the nickname “l’ému” promises tenderness and the opposite happens. The card sums up the scene in one sentence, noting that the family writes in and the character fires back with caricatured aggression. People use it to illustrate an oversized reaction to a kind message, to mimic a grumpy wake-up mood or to comment on an exchange that goes wrong for no reason. The register is dark humour and absurdity, and the exact words matter little.
Where does the “Marqui l’ému” meme come from?
The card describes the scene as a message from the wife and children of emotional Marqui, to which he replies with insults. The nickname, built on a short form of a name followed by “l’ému”, points to a character known for being sensitive. The meme circulates as an edit, a screenshot and a twisted caption, in the spirit of reworked football or TV content that French-speaking users love to rewrite. The card name deliberately keeps a coarse word to provoke a reaction.
How to use the “Marqui l’ému” meme

The reprint of the “Marqui l’ému” card

Every printing is dealt in the packs of the Memes FR pack, each at its own rarity: the higher it is, the rarer the card is to pull. Copies of the first printing already pulled stay as they are, and any printing counts toward completing a set.
MyMemeCards reprints a meme when it deserves more than the rarity of its first printing, such as a classic that became iconic after it came out: the reprint gives it a place among the most sought-after cards without taking anything from the players who already had it.
